Sarah Michelle Gellar is an American actress and producer. She is known for starring as Buffy Summers on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as for her roles in the films I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible, Scooby-Doo, The Grudge, and many others.
Sarah is the daughter of Rosellen and Arthur Gellar. Her parents were/are both Jewish. Her father was of Russian Jewish descent. Her maternal grandparents were Hungarian Jewish immigrants.
Sarah is married to actor Freddie Prinze, Jr., with whom she has two children.
